LiveType Installation


How is the LiveType install Structured

LiveType is initially installed with the Final Cut 4 install. All the thumbnails and low resolution proxies are installed. At this point you can decide to use LiveType and position and create your animations. The major drawback is that items such as LiveFonts, Objects and Textures will only appear as a poster frame in your canvas. To manage element click on the install/uninstall buttons on the bottom of the Media Browser.



If you want to have the entire LiveType library at hand install the two LiveType DVD's (make sure you have at least 8.5gb free on your Boot Drive). You do not have to keep them on your Boot Drive after the install. Drag the LiveType Folder from your Root->Library->Application Support folder over to your second drive or partition. Delete the original LiveType folder and create and alias of the newly created LiveType copy. Drag the alias into the Root->Library->Application Support folder. Make sure you rename the alias from LiveType alias to LiveType. At this point you should be good to go as long as this drive or partition is mounted when you launch LiveType.
